Hello Richard

From time to time, I come across your interesting postings. Thank you for your work! Have you seen the portrait on one of the internet sites (I forget for the moment which one - but easily found if you type-in the name) of Jean Chevalier the Diarist by the Jersey artist Millais?

Regards

Thank you very much for some of the information, I hope it will be a great help with my finding more information about my family tree, Chevalier family, my great great grand father John (jean) Chevalier was horbour master of St helier Jersey in 1843 to 1861 when he died by drowning in carrying out his dutys, but there was also a Jean Chevalier who was horbour master in 1809 to 1819, I would love to know if this was his father, if you have any information, all the very best Syd Hall.
